WASHINGTON – Corey Lewandowski, a Trump campaign adviser, and Republican National Committee chief of staff Richard Walters have tested positive for COVID 19, bringing the latest outbreak among President Trump’s aides and advisers to 14 people. The Hill, FOX news and the New York Times reported.
Corey Lewandowski, with Trump’s chief of staff, Trump’s political director, a Trump’s campaign adviser and the housing secretary, all tested positive for COVID 19. They attended an election night party at the White House where hundreds of people mingled for hours, many without masks.
Lewandowski said Thursday he believes he was infected in Philadelphia and he’s not experiencing any symptoms. Lewandowski recently traveled to Pennsylvania to assist President’s efforts to contest the state’s election results.
Tom Frieden, who served as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under President Barack Obama, noted last week, the lack of control measures at the White House and suggested the new cases could be a part of the same outbreak from late September.
