Mike Pompeo today confirmed that he listened in to the phone call between President Donald Drumpf and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in July.
During a news conference in Rome Pompeo told reporters:
“I was on the phone call… it (the call) was in the context of U.S. foreign policy goals for the Eastern European nation that have been remarkably consistent,”
And he added:
“It’s what the State department officials that I’ve had the privilege to lead have been engaged in, and it’s what we will continue to do — even while all this noise is going on,”
